Bill Gates Explains Why He Didn't Buy Bitcoin

Microsoft founder Bill Gates talked about the reasons for not buying Bitcoin, arguing that Bitcoin (BTC) is bad for the climate due to its electricity consumption. 

During a Clubhouse interview with CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates criticized Bitcoin for its excessive use of energy, claiming it consumes more electricity "than any other method known to man." 

"Bitcoin uses more electricity per transaction than any other method known to man." Gates said he would think well about Bitcoin if he trusts green electricity: “Maybe it's okay if it doesn't outpace green electricity use and other uses.

Even if you label me as a Bitcoin skeptic, I don't see the issue as deeply relevant. " Gates reiterated that he has not yet jumped on the Bitcoin train after mentioning it. Gates expresses the following: "I Did Not Choose To Invest In Bitcoin. I'm buying malaria vaccines.

I'm getting the measles vaccine. I invest in companies that produce for the world. " Gates still mentioned that he congratulated those who made wealth with Bitcoin. 

The Gates Foundation is currently developing its own digital currencies for "very low" transaction fee holders. Ripple CEO Agrees As big companies like Tesla and Square add Bitcoin to their balance sheets, it remains published against criticism from those concerned about the carbon footprint of the cryptocurrency. 

Last March, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse described mining as "a big waste" and called public companies its "more energy efficient" presence in October. Since then, proof of the work has softened the lying and is now promoting mining in his most recent tweet:

“The priorities of the Biden administration are clear, they talk about climate change its day. Instead of discussing exactly how much energy mining is, let's focus on thinking about this sector."
